The journey begins with the earliest settlements of Halkidiki. Visitors can admire pottery, tools and everyday objects discovered in places such as Agios Mamas, Toroni and Ancient Olynthos.
The collection also highlights the region’s artistic connections with other important centres of the ancient world. Beautiful black-figure and red-figure vases reveal the influence and exchange between local workshops and cities such as Athens and Corinth.
The Ioannis Lambropoulos Collection: Treasures from the Past
One of the museum’s most remarkable sections comes from the Ioannis Lambropoulos Collection, donated to the public through the Herakles Lambropoulos Donation.
The collection includes more than 1,000 objects, mainly from the Archaic and Classical periods. Through a creative presentation, visitors discover these artefacts through themes connected to everyday life in antiquity.
