In the green slopes of Megali Panagia, on the fertile grounds that receive the benefitting breeze coming from Mount Athos, you can find “Tarazas Estate” where Greek and foreign grape varieties are biologically cultivated.
The Tarazas estate was founded in 2007 with a love for the production of quality wine, coming from the privately-owned vineyards, which are cultivated with respect for the natural environment, in combination with the highlighting of the varieties aimed at high quality.
The traditional style of the winery is in total harmony with the landscape, whereas the endless view to the vineyards and the mountain is breathtaking.
THE VINEYARDS
Opposite Mount Athos, at an altitude of 450 meters, in an ideal position for viticulture, are the privately owned vineyards of the estate.
The clay soil with nutrients and continuous aeration, which helps to combat diseases, but also the minimum aridity, is the result of all these soil and climate conditions (terroir), which shape the vinification effect of our excellent wines.
The red varieties of the vineyard are Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Grerache Rouge, while the whites are Cardone and Malagouzia.
